New Watercolor Portrait: "The Wedding Gloves"

For this painting, I wanted to create mystique by contrasting the youthful, happy face with a dramatic background, leaving the viewer to wonder about the occasion. I used 260# Arches cold press.

One More Figure

This is another painting from our weekly figure session. It is watercolor on two panels of arches 300# cold press.

This week we spent more time on shorter quick sketches with one long pose. I had forgoten how nice it is to draw quickly. The lines are so much more spontaneous and gestural.
