New Watercolor Portrait: "The Wedding Gloves"

For this painting, I wanted to create mystique by contrasting the youthful, happy face with a dramatic background, leaving the viewer to wonder about the occasion. I used 260# Arches cold press.

The Wedding Gloves
watercolor, 19 x 26"

Wow! Just now discovered your blog. Incredible work and very inspiring. I've been slowly trying out water colors (mostly just B&W).

That's so nice. Thank you Sadami. I hope you do continue with watercolor. It's an addicting habit, isn't it!

'Colour wise' genius! The background is simply amazing! I guess it’s somewhere in India.
