This is Reuben, one of the elderly I've met at the nursing home. Reuben is 94 years old and has some incredibly vivid stories from his childhood. One of his favorite things to talk about was when he would go dancing each weekend as a young man. I took this photo when he was telling me about meeting his late wife Beulah at one of the dances.

Nice Portrait Peggi !
Congrats !
I find this series of elderly people very interesting. It's a great idea for your October exhibition. I wish I could see all of your portraits in person!
i am also enjoying your portraits of the elderly. So many stories on their faces. You are truly a master painter!!
Peggi, Beautiful portrait, and I'm fascinated by the concept. Much more than just a pretty picture. The idea of the aging body and ageless memories. His emotions really come through in your rendering, too. Very nice. Best regards.
Thanks to all. This project has been intriguing. It's a much more personal experience than I had expected. I look forward to my visits with the residents because they are always so unexpected, and rewarding.
Love this series! The stories are so touching and you capture the emotion... Can't wait to see more.
This portrait is amazingly beautiful. So clear and full of stories. Its mesmerizing. You paint the elderly like it was your purpose in life.
you have caught such a beautiful expression, eyes away in some distant past. great work.
Just beautiful!

Your paintings are beautiful! I love how expressive they are. Amazing! And also very inspiring :)
I just found your blog, I paint watercolor portraits too and I'm always looking for others who do too. I look forward to following along with you here!
Great painting, the colour variety is fantastic, such character.
Just beautiful, Peggi. His face is amazing and so full of feeling.
Hi Peggi!
Beautiful portrait as always. And he's a very handsome man. You can see the love in his expression.
a beautiful portrait, so expressive!
It's an autentic psicological portrait, i love the way he poses and his figure, nice job :)
Thanks, guys! I appreciate all the kind words.
Peggi, this painting is very beautiful, and his expression is captured wonderfully. I can see his thoughts and how much he must miss his Beulah.
Sweetness, sourness, saltiness and bitterness of this unpredictable life are smeared all over this calm old man complexion. To put it on a canvas is a remarkable feats. Job well done.
