"Willis Has The Blues"

This watercolor portrait was painted from a photograph I took of a man in Ocean City, Md this past sumer.

Willis is a street musician who plays on the boardwalk. I was drawn to his long dreadlocks, wiry whiskers and interminable stare.

I always have loved hands in a portrait. They say so much about a person. Look how you have captured those hands - they are just as telling as his face. Wonderful!

I enjoy watercolors, too. You did a wonderful job capturing all the realism and character of this man. I like the way he appears to be playing his harmonica - so life like. I haven't seen your other paintings yet, but I am looking forward to it.

Hi Peggi!
Sorry it took so long to comment and thanks so much for stopping by our blog. We always get excited when someone visits! Your paintings are absolutely incredible! You certainly have the knack for capturing expressions and the talent to interpret them into gorgeous paintings! I delivered a proof today to The Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College and saw the Phila. Watercolor Society's show. You would love it! Your paintings would fit right in! Keep up the beautiful work. Can't wait to see your next project! If you have a chance, stop by mikehaleandco. I am posting some of MH's Halloween costumes this week. You'll get a kick out of them.
