Time for A Little R&R

Here we go. The annual "Strategic Packing and Negotiating (no, we are not bringing the entire PS2 system with us) Session". It's the mandatory pre-vacation, why are we doing this again? event that takes place before our week-long respite at the beach. Ah, can't wait.

I picked up a little travel watercolor set and a watercolor journal, so I anticipate some very carefree mornings with no expectations other than exploration.

My friend, Marlene, posted a great poem by Wendell Berry called, "The Vacation" on her blog. It's a good reminder of staying in the present. While you're there, check out her wonderful saw-dust, pit-fired pots.

See you all next week!

Oooh...a little vacation? Sounds great! Can't wait to see what little watercolors come from it in your sketchbook.

That "vacation" poem was perfect. So true!

Hi Karine and Linda,
Just got back. Karine, what travel set do you have? I liked the little Winsor and Newton paint tray, but wasn't all that impressed with the watercolor sketchbook I bought. It has a nice sturdy cover and the Strathmore paper was heavy enough not to buckle. However, the paper didn't take the paint well. I was thinking making my own for next time with better paper.
