Paintings from Jamaica

Here is a painting I completed while in Jamaica, titled Pulse. I understand why Jamaican art and clothing is so colorful. Sitting in a blazing sun, surrounded by tropical plants and saturated color doesn't exactly inspire an earthy palette or subtlety. I could hear music even when there was none. (Or maybe that was the rum!)

The bottom two are studies of plants found outside my door.

I guess I need to talk with you about going to Jamaica. It's near the top of my list of places I want to visit.
